NSSWE Connect Festival 2021 – Musician Wellbeing and Inspiration

On behalf of the entire NSSWE team, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our wonderful NSSWE Connect Festival – our second festival in the digital realm.

This year our focus is on wellbeing and inspiration for all musicians. We are keenly aware of the impact on all bands of restrictions on rehearsals and performances through the pandemic. We know that for many musicians, the challenges to mental health and motivation have been considerable. With this Festival, we are delivering practical sessions focused on helping musicians to stay motivated, hone their skills, and have fun with their music.

With the support of our Festival Partner, Online Virtuoso, and Festival Supporters, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, The University of Sydney, Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, The Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums and ABODA NSW, we are able to present an exceptional line up of master musicians and expert presenters. These leaders in their fields are ready to inspire student musicians, along with their parents, teachers and conductors.

The festival will be delivered over two weeks, and the program is streamed into two evening sessions. The early stream is designed for students, and includes practical sessions on audition and exam preparation, improvisation, and getting the most out of your instrument. The late stream offers professional development for conductors, teachers and musical educators, with a focus on student motivation and mental wellbeing as well as career advice and inspiration for conductors.

Everyone is warmly invited to watch our special Opening and Keynote (available to stream on demand), featuring Professor Anna Reid, Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

We hope you enjoy connecting with some of Australia’s finest musicians and experts!
