As part of our NSSWE Connect program, we are pleased to announce the second in a series of workshop events with some of Australia’s leading instrumentalists and performers, exclusively for our NSSWE musicians.
These workshops will focus on professional performance practices, developing instrument specific technique and insight into pursuing a musical career and working in the industry.
Next week we welcome trumpet player Tim Crow to NSSWE Connect.
Tim Crow studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he gained a Bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz Performance. Since his graduation he has enjoyed a busy career as both a music educator and professional performer. Tim has gained a reputation of being a very versatile musician whose musical spectrum covers all genres.
His professional theatre credits include: Aladdin, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Chicago, Matilda, A Chorus Line, Wicked, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Legally Blonde, Annie, West Side Story, Jekyll and Hyde, Mary Poppins, The Producers, Guys and Dolls, Jersey Boys, Little Women, South Pacific, Titanic. Tim is looking forward to performing in the upcoming season of Frozen.
Tim has worked with such notable names as Harry Connick Jr, Jerry Lewis, Franki Valli, Mike Patton (Faith No More), Bobby Rydell, Petula Clarke, Jim Pugh (Steely Dan), Barbara Morrison and The Cinematic Orchestra.
Closer to home, Tim has played with or recorded for: Guy Sebastian, Megan Washington, Peking Duk, Rhonda Burchmore, Tim Minchin, James Morrison, Tom Burlinson, Glenn Shorrock, Paulini, Pete Murray, Kate Miller-Heike, Human Nature, David Campbell, Kate Ceberano, Tommy Emmanuel, Anthony Callea, Todd McKenny, Tina Arena, The Sydney International Orchestra, The Sydney Jazz Orchestra, The Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra, The Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Ensemble Offspring.
As an educator, Tim has been heavily involved with The Arts Unit, tutoring the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Wind Orchestra. He has also taught at many State Music Camps over the years. For over a decade Tim has been the director of the highly acclaimed NSW Public Schools Jazz Orchestra and Schools Spectacular Stage Band.
He has been involved with many of the leading school band programs throughout Sydney. Tim is currently the Director of Bands at Queenwood School and tutor at Manly Selective Campus.
